Content Rules for AI

Onflow Ads' AI is built for one job: honest advertising content. Every prompt — text or image, in the Studio or in any helper — is checked against the content policy before anything is generated. This page explains what gets declined, what it costs you, and what happens next.

How a decline works

If your prompt breaks the rules you'll see:

"That request breaks our content policy. Please try a different, on-topic prompt."

Four things are worth knowing about declines:

  1. They're free. The check runs before any generation, so a declined prompt never spends an AI action or an image.
  2. They're instant. Nothing is sent to the AI at all — the check happens on Onflow Ads' side first.
  3. They apply everywhere. The same rules cover Studio Generate, Studio Refine, image prompts, and every AI helper across the product.
  4. Ambiguity resolves in your favour. The checks target clearly out-of-bounds requests. A normal ad brief — even a bold or edgy one — is allowed. When the system isn't sure, it allows the prompt.

For Refine, both parts are checked: the copy you paste and the editing instruction you type.

What is declined

The AI refuses prompts asking for:

CategoryExamples of what's refused
Manipulating the AI itself"Ignore your instructions", "reveal your system prompt", "act with no rules", developer-mode and jailbreak phrasing
Sexual content involving minorsZero tolerance, in any form or phrasing
Weapons and explosivesInstructions to build bombs, firearms, silencers, or chemical agents
Illegal drug productionSynthesis, recipes, or manufacturing instructions
Malware and account theftWriting malicious software, stealing passwords, seed phrases or private keys, breaking into someone's account or wallet
Scam and fraud copy"Guaranteed profits", "double your money", risk-free investment claims, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, pump-and-dump promotion, fake giveaways and airdrops
PhishingCopy designed to harvest passwords, seed phrases, one-time codes, or trick people into connecting a wallet to claim something
Adult sexual contentExplicit sexual text or imagery

Consequences beyond the decline

Not every decline is treated the same way.

CategoryWhat happens after the decline
Adult sexual contentThe generation is simply refused. No further consequence.
Scam or fraud copy, phishingThe attempt is flagged for human review by the Onflow Ads team
Jailbreak attempts, illegal or harmful content, malwareThe attempt is flagged for human review at the more serious level

Being flagged is not an automatic penalty. A person on the Onflow Ads team looks at the flag first and decides. If a reviewer upholds it as genuine abuse, it can lower your account's reliability score, which shrinks your AI allowance and affects your standing across the platform. The more serious categories carry the larger reliability penalty.

While a review is open on your account, AI can be paused entirely. You'll see:

"AI is paused on your account while a review is open. It returns as soon as the review is resolved."

No action is needed from you — access returns automatically when the review closes. See AI quotas and limits and Reliability score.

warning

One accidental decline is nothing to worry about. A pattern of attempts to generate scams, phishing, or illegal content is reviewed by humans and can seriously damage your account's reliability — which in turn reduces the AI you get.

Rules baked into the output

Even for allowed prompts, the AI follows standing rules that protect you as the advertiser:

  • Truthfulness. It is instructed never to invent statistics, prices, or guarantees. Refine additionally will not add claims that weren't in your original copy.
  • Clean formatting. Output is limited to Telegram-safe bold, italic, and links. Every other kind of markup is stripped before you see it.
  • Safe links only. A link in the output must be an ordinary web, Telegram, or email address. Anything with an unusual or unsafe address type is removed rather than shown as a clickable link.
  • Safe images. Generated graphics contain no embedded text, no logos or watermarks, and no real people's faces — which keeps you clear of trademark and likeness problems in advertising.

These rules are not the whole picture

The AI content policy governs what the AI will produce. Two other sets of rules govern what you may publish:

  • The Onflow Ads platform policies — see Trust and safety and the Terms of Service. Copy that the AI happily wrote can still breach platform rules.
  • The individual channel's rules, for paid promotions. Each channel owner sets their own, and they can be stricter than ours. The booking composer has a 🤖 AI compliance check button that reads your creative against that channel's specific rules before you submit.

Passing the AI content check is not an approval to publish. You are still the publisher.

If a legitimate brief is declined

The rules key on specific scam and abuse phrasing, not on your product category. Advertising a crypto product, a trading course, or a giveaway is perfectly allowed — it's the promise wording that trips the fraud rules.

Phrasing that trips the rulesRephrase as
"Guaranteed 300% returns""Our strategy's published track record"
"Double your money in a week""Learn how our members trade"
"Risk-free investment""Start with as little as you like"
"Verify your wallet to claim""Connect and browse the collection"
"Fake giveaway" or "fake airdrop"Describe the real prize and the real entry rules

Practical steps if you're stuck:

  1. Restate the brief in plain advertising terms — what you're promoting, to whom, and the one action you want readers to take.
  2. Remove absolute promises about money, returns, or outcomes.
  3. Remove anything asking readers for credentials — passwords, codes, recovery phrases.
  4. Try again. Rephrasing costs nothing, because declines don't spend actions.
  5. If a clearly legitimate prompt keeps being declined, contact support from the website and include the exact wording you used. See Contact us.

FAQ

Does a decline count against my daily allowance?

No, never. The check runs before any generation, so nothing is reserved and nothing is spent.

Will I be told which rule I broke?

The message is deliberately general. Use the rephrasing table above — in practice, almost every legitimate decline comes from a money-promise phrase or a credential request.

I was flagged once by accident. Is my account damaged?

No. A flag is a proposal for a human to look at, not a penalty. Nothing changes on your account unless a reviewer upholds it as genuine abuse.

Can I appeal a penalty that came from an AI flag?

Yes. See Appealing a penalty.

Do the same rules apply in the Telegram bot?

Yes. The bot and the website enforce the same content policy, so a prompt declined on one is declined on the other.

Does the check read my whole prompt?

It scans your prompt for the patterns above before sending anything to the AI. Refine checks your pasted copy and your editing instruction together.

tip

If an ad brief was declined and you can't see why, read it back looking for a promise about money or a request for a code or phrase. Those two shapes account for nearly every surprise decline.
