Verifying Your Email
When you sign up with an email address, Onflow Ads asks you to prove the address is really yours before your account goes live. We do that with a 6-digit code emailed to you, which you enter on the Check your email page at https://onflowads.com/verify.
Verification matters because your email is your key to the account: it's where sign-in security alerts go, and it's what password reset uses if you're ever locked out. An unverified address can't do either job.
When this flow runs
- Right after sign-up — automatically, as Step 2 of creating your account. This page covers that flow in full.
- When you change your sign-in email — a code goes to the new address; that variant happens inline on the account page and is covered in Account Settings.
- When you reset your password — the same code machinery is used on the reset page; see Resetting Your Password.
Accounts created via Continue with Telegram don't go through email verification — there's no email to verify. See Signing In with Telegram.
Step by step
- After you click Create account on the sign-up form, you land on the Check your email page. It reads: "We sent a 6-digit code to [your masked email]. Enter it below to finish creating your account." — the partly hidden address confirms where the code went.
- Open your inbox and find the email from Onflow Ads containing the 6-digit code.
- Type the code into the Verification code box. The box accepts digits only; as soon as you type the sixth digit the page submits automatically — you can also click Verify and continue yourself.
- On success you'll see "Email verified — welcome to Onflow Ads!" and, a moment later, you're taken into the site — already signed in on that browser. We also send you a welcome email.
Under the code box the page keeps you informed:
- A status line shows how many resends you have left and reminds you the code expires in 10 min.
- After a resend, a countdown shows "You can resend in Xs" until the Resend code button unlocks again.
Codes, limits and lockouts
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Code lifetime | Each code is valid for 10 minutes. An expired code shows "That code expired. Tap "Resend code" to get a new one." |
| Wrong attempts | You get 5 attempts per code. Each miss shows "Incorrect code. N attempts left." |
| Resends | Resend code works up to 4 times per verification, with a 60-second wait between resends. Each resend emails a fresh code (enter the newest one). |
| Too many failures | After too many wrong codes you'll see "Too many incorrect codes. For your security this is locked for 6 hours." The page locks and you'll need to wait before starting again. |
| Session lifetime | The whole verification step stays open for about 30 minutes. If it lapses you'll see "Your verification session expired. Please sign up again." and be returned to the sign-up page. |
The lockout after repeated wrong codes protects your address from guessing attacks and cannot be lifted early — not even by signing up again with the same email. Wait it out, then restart. The same protection applies to password-reset and two-factor codes.
What happens on success
- Your account is marked verified — dashboards and all engines open up.
- You are signed in immediately on that browser (a normal session, about 48 hours — see Signing In with Email).
- A welcome email arrives in your inbox.
- Your permanent OFA ID is already attached to the account.
Edge cases
- You closed the tab. Your verification isn't lost: within the ~30-minute window, returning to https://onflowads.com/verify in the same browser resumes exactly where you left off.
- You open /verify with nothing pending. The page sends you to https://onflowads.com/signup — there's nothing to verify.
- You typed the wrong email at sign-up. Click Start over next to "Wrong email?" at the bottom of the page to return to sign-up and register the correct address.
- The verification window expired. Sign up again with the same email and password — your details are refreshed and a new code is sent; you don't lose anything.
- You requested several codes. Only the most recent code counts. If codes arrive out of order, use the one from the newest email.
FAQ
The email never arrived — what now? Wait a minute, then check spam, junk and promotions folders. Still nothing? Click Resend code (available every 60 seconds, up to 4 times). If you may have mistyped the address, click Start over.
Can I verify on a different device than I signed up on? The verification step belongs to the browser you signed up in. Enter the emailed code in that same browser. If that's no longer possible, simply sign up again from the device you're on.
Do I ever have to verify again? No — verification is one-time per address. You'll only see a code prompt again if you change your sign-in email (the new address gets verified) or reset your password.
Can I use my account without verifying? No. Signed-in pages check for a verified email and send you to the verification page first.
