FAQ and Troubleshooting
Each answer here is deliberately short. Where a topic has a full page, follow the link — that page has the step-by-step version.
The bot
I messaged the bot and it just points me to the website. Is it broken?
No — that is exactly how it is meant to work. The bot has no chat menus or commands; everything is managed on the website, or in the Mini App, which is the website inside Telegram. Any message you send gets one reply with an Open Onflow Ads button. Its real work happens in the background. See Bot vs Website.
Which bot is the real one?
Always open it from a button on onflowads.com — Continue with Telegram on the sign-in page, or Connect Telegram on the Account page. Those buttons carry the official link. See Starting the Bot.
I tapped an old button on a bot message and got "Manage everything at onflowads.com".
Buttons from the bot's retired chat interface no longer do anything in chat. Use the website or the Mini App for the same task — the pop-up tells you where to go.
Do I need to keep the bot chat around?
Yes. The chat is where your DM notifications and campaign alerts land, and where the Open Site menu button lives. Blocking or deleting the bot stops your Telegram notifications. If you did, unblock it and send /start once.
What permissions does the bot need on my channel?
Add the bot as an admin to your channel from the website when you enroll the channel — it needs admin rights to publish and remove campaign posts. After that it takes care of the rest.
I pressed Start but nothing is linked to my account.
Pressing Start on its own only opens the chat. To pair your identities you must open the bot from Connect Telegram on the Account page, or sign in through Continue with Telegram. See Starting the Bot.
Signing in and linking
Where do I find the 6-digit sign-in code?
Only in your own browser, in the Sign in with Telegram dialog on onflowads.com. The bot never sends you the code — you type it into the bot. If anyone sends you a code and asks you to enter it, refuse: that is an attempt to access an account as you. See Signing In with Telegram.
How long do I have to finish signing in?
Ten minutes, with five attempts at the code. After that, start again from the website.
The bot says "Link expired" when I try to connect.
Connection links are single-use and last about ten minutes. Go back to onflowads.com/account, press Connect Telegram again, and tap Start promptly.
"Already connected elsewhere" — what now?
Your Telegram is linked to a different Onflow Ads account. Sign in to that account — the easiest way is Continue with Telegram, which always lands on the account your Telegram points at — or contact support to move the link.
"Account already linked" — what now?
The account you are signed in to is already paired with a different Telegram account. One account pairs with exactly one Telegram. Contact support if you need to change which.
Can I unlink my Telegram myself?
There is no self-service unlink on the Account page. Contact support if you need the link moved or removed.
I signed in with Telegram and my account has no email. Is that a problem?
It works fine, but adding a real email is recommended: it lets you sign in without Telegram and receive email notifications and receipts. Add one from onflowads.com/account and confirm it with a verification code.
I seem to have two accounts — one from the bot, one from the website.
Sign in to your main website account in your browser, then open the Mini App from the bot. The Telegram-only starter account is folded into your website account — wallet balance, boost credit, channels, orders and history combine into one. If anything looks wrong afterwards, contact support rather than making a third account.
The Mini App
The Mini App says "Telegram couldn't verify this session."
Close it and reopen from the bot's Open Site button. If it keeps happening, update your Telegram app — very old versions cannot produce the signed session data automatic sign-in needs. You can always press Continue anyway and sign in manually.
The Mini App shows an outdated page.
Telegram's in-app browser caches aggressively. Close the Mini App fully and reopen it from the bot.
Can I do everything in the Mini App that I can do on the website?
Effectively yes — the Mini App is the website, signed in through Telegram. Orders you place there appear on the website tagged "via Bot", and the reverse. A few things, such as reading email, naturally live outside Telegram. See Mini App Pages.
Telegram's back button closed the whole app.
Expected behaviour at the first page in your history. Reopen from Open Site.
Notifications
I get emails but no Telegram DMs.
Check three things, in order:
- Your account is actually linked — the Notifications Settings tab shows a "Start our bot" banner if it is not.
- The Telegram toggle for that category (Orders, Payments or System) is on, at onflowads.com/telegram/dashboard/notifications.
- You have not blocked the bot in Telegram.
Do email digests delay my Telegram alerts?
No. Digest settings batch emails only; Telegram DMs are always instant. Urgent emails skip the digest as well.
Can I turn Telegram alerts on but emails off?
Yes — the toggles are independent, per category. See Notifications from the Bot.
I muted a category and now I miss things.
Your in-app feed always records everything, whatever the toggles say. Open the History tab of the Notifications page to catch up.
Campaign tracking
My Live Dashboard shows fewer opens than I expected.
The tracker counts unique opens — repeat taps by the same person do not add up, and taps after the campaign ended are not counted. That is deliberate, so both partners see honest numbers. See Ad Posts and Click Tracking.
The tracker says "Missing campaign code."
It must be opened from the Open Live Dashboard button on the bot's "Campaign is Live!" message — that button carries the campaign's code. Find that DM and open it from there.
My member count went down during a campaign.
The figure is the net change in your channel's members over the campaign window, so it includes everything unrelated to the campaign. Read it alongside the opens figure.
A viewer tapped my ad and saw "Invalid or Expired Link."
The campaign behind that button has ended, or the link was malformed. Posts are removed at cleanup, but a forwarded copy of an old post can outlive its campaign.
Where do the final campaign numbers live?
In the Campaign Complete! DM, on the campaign's page on the website, and frozen on the tracker itself.
Still stuck?
Open the support desk — from the website or right inside the Mini App: onflowads.com/telegram/dashboard/support.
